In 1998, we opened our doors and started serving quality coffee to the people of Milwaukie. All those years ago, it was our passion for great coffee and getting to know people that led to us opening Wind Horse in Portland. Now, over 20 years later, we are still driven by the same love for great coffee and building relationships with people.

Our menu

The best place to start when introducing ourselves is our menu. It’s our pride and joy. And in all the years we’ve served downtown Milwaukie and the greater Portland area, it’s always had great-tasting food and beverages, made with only the freshest and highest quality ingredients.

Coffee and tea

Like everyone who’s visited us at the Wind Horse in Portland, you’ll get to sip only the highest quality coffee. We serve Italian artisan coffee by Caffe Umbria.

And you can expect the same quality with our tea. We serve eight varieties of Rishi tea.

Whatever drink you pick, it’s always prepared just the right way and served by one of our certified baristas.

Paninis

Our menu has something for you whatever time you visit us. When you arrive for your first meal, our breakfast

Have one with egg and cheese for your starter, or go for one with some Olympia Provisions honey-baked ham. Or, some fresh sausage straight from Jones Family Farm, and some egg and cheese on Italian Como bread fresh from Grand Central Bakery.

Later in the day, for either brunch or lunch, you can choose from our selection of traditional paninis. There’s tuna, for one, made with Captain Rick’s line-caught Albacore tuna.

Another option is bacon, which we get from boar’s head turkey bacon with provolone.

Pastries

Whatever brew’s your favorite, we always have freshly baked pastries to go along with it. We get all our baked goods from the finest bakeries near us, and you can taste the quality and care put into making them with each bite.

Soups

And you can also try either our tomato bisque or curry squash soup. Both are made from old family recipes passed down over the generations, prepared in exactly their original form from decades ago.

We value your convenience

Whatever time you come to visit us, you can always count on getting your brew fresh brewed iced tea quickly. Part of our charm is that we serve customers fast, without the need for them to wait as they would at the popular chain store.

We also have a little outdoor seating if you’d like to stick around and enjoy your brew for a bit. Our parking lot has plenty of spaces, too, so you'll get served here even faster than you would in the drive-up line at one of the big chain stores.

In short, it’s always quick grabbing a warm beverage or a pastry with us.
